Position Description: Intern is responsible for assisting registered dietitian nutritionist is all aspects of running her private practice both offline and online as noted in the responsibilities below.

Learning Goals:
  1. Understand the inner-workings of running a nutrition business
  2. Gain knowledge of the role of medical nutrition therapy as it relates to diabetes management, gastrointestinal conditions and other chronic conditions by following actual cases
  3. Gain knowledge in intuitive eating principles and applications
  4. Improve research and writing skills
  5. Learn how to build an online nutrition presence
Administrative Responsibilities      
  • Answer phones and take messages
  • Appointment confirmations
  • Manage day-to-day activities in the office
  • Process patient payments, billing, and other general office duties such as filing, copying and product inventory

Other Responsibilities
  • Nutritional analysis of food records and recipes
  • Documentation in patient medical records
  • Development of educational handouts and meal plans
  • MD reports management
  • Nutrition practice marketing offline and online
  • Research and weekly blog and article writing
  • Social media involvement: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube
Skills and Qualifications
  • Dietetics major in a 4-year accredited program
  • Ability to do internet nutrition-related research
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Nutritionist Pro
  • Friendly and personable; customer service experience preferred but not necessary

  Advanced Level Skills and Qualifications (preferred, but not necessary)
  • Access to and knowledge of video software for producing custom videos
  • Should be creative and able to create custom content such as images and ads for use online
  • Ability to stay organized and manage weekly videos as well as all other media content
