Instagram Student Adminstrators for 23-24 school year

The Instagram account @talknutrition4students is completing its third year and looking for students interested in serving during the 23-24 academic year. Each year a team of 5-8 dietetics students works collaboratively to administer the page, under the leadership of Barb Mayfield. The group meets via Zoom on a monthly basis and posts are created with Canva Pro. Students create posts, stories, and videos; they interview RDNs and other students and gain valuable experience in communicating nutrition. Each student chosen to serve on the team is gifted a copy of Communicating Nutrition: The Authoritative Guide, published by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Job Expectation : Team-oriented, creative, interested in building knowledge and skills in nutrition communication, reliable, and professional. Able to commit to monthly Zoom calls and be responsible for daily posts every 5-8 weeks.

Barb Mayfield is the editor-in-chief for Communicating Nutrition: The Authoritative Guide, published by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She served 16+ years on the faculty of the Nutrition Science Department at Purdue University, teaching future professionals to be proficient nutrition communicators. She leads a group of student administrators for an Instagram account called talknutrition4students.
